This is not good. There is no cohesion in the final third, no link up between players. Too big of spaces between the attackers. The full backs never overlap the wingers and the wingers are always so wide. Yildiz and Chico need to get more infield where they can get shots away or link up with the striker. It's like Motta doesn't know what to do with the attackers.

Also Koop in the ten role is not working out. I'd like to see him as a standard mezzalla. I think he'd get himself more involved in the game in that role. It looks like he's thinking about it too much in his current role.

Despite being ahead with a deflected goal this isn't working. It's Guintoli's fault we have no striker but Motta needs to get innovative. Does Weah score in training? Doing the same thing in every game when it's not working seems stupid.

I didn't like the 2nd half performance at all, there was too many mistakes especially Cambiaso on the equaliser where he tried to dribble instead of passing. The lack of a striker is clearly holding the team back, but so is the lack of options with the injuries.

Thankfully there's no game this midweek to give the players a bit of a rest.

We scored 6 goals in two games when Yildiz was playing as the ten.

Weah scored two goals in two games when he was playing wide left. He's great at running from wide to in, that's how he got his two goals. Creation through movement. Why Motta insisted on moving him I don't know.

It seems because he got those two goals and the one in the last international break that Motta thinks he's the best option up front but he must see now that he's more useful out wide. Motta seems a bit clueless during games sometimes, maybe it's down to the injuries but then he needs to callup the under 19 or under 23 players, like that lad who came on for the last 5 minutes today. I don't understand why go to Villa with no strikers at all, what if we were chasing the game.

Also Fagioli was playing really well, consistently too, until he got dropped a while back, and now he's linked with a transfer to France. There must be something in that, either he's falling out with Motta or started gambling again. It could be tactics but why drop a player who was playing well, he was MOTM contender in a lot of them games.

I'd put Yildiz up front at the moment and bring Fagioli in. Then Weah can go wide as you said Ray, as he was showing improvement there compared to last season. Mbangula is also an option that could be used more as he looked promising at the start of the season.

There is a lack of options but I think Motta could use what he has more effectively. That would also help with keeping everyone fresh as the team looked tired at the end of the game yesterday.

Lovely finish from Mbangula. He better not play too well or he'll get dropped!

Mbangula should be used more, he's done well when he's played and that was a great goal.

The performance was mostly bad though, the defending on both goals is bad firstly from Locatelli and then Gatti. The team looked disjointed and lost for a lot of the game too, which is not something I'd have said too often this season even if I'd prefer more attacking threat in some games. But they didn't give up and ended up getting a point against a good team despite not playing well.

Hopefully Cambiaso is OK, that was a freak way to get injured.
