I thought the semi used to be one leg when the final was two.
Wouldn't surprise me if they switched them just to get extra revenue for four semi finalists instead of just the two finalists. I suppose we should be grateful they haven't moved the final to some trillionaire's back garden built by child slaves yet...give it time though.

I've just checked the format for the last year it was a 2 legged final and every round was 2 legs.
They should reform the Coppa, have all of Serie C and even Serie D or lower in it, and make it more like the FA Cup or the French Cup which are more interesting tournaments.

Totally agree Liam, all divisions and open draw. I think that would be great on both a sporting and marketing aspect. I'd watch Castel di Sangro via Milan or Lucca via Juve. At the moment it's just Serie A teams against Seria A teams, we get that already, it's called Serie A
And give the lower ranked team the home advantage regardless of their ground capacity.
Make it romantic, prestige and something the players will be proud of having a medal for.

The Super League is dead, everyone knows it. The money in the Premier League is damaging the sport though and that is why the idea keeps coming back. The wealth in football has for a long time become more and more concentrated on an elite group of leagues and now it's only concentrated on one.

From what I've read, a new super league would rival the PL. I agree that the money in the PL is ruining the sport, what Chelsea have just done is obscene but I find it highly hypocritical of Real and Barca, its ok when they are breaking records, paying the highest wages and taking all the TV revenue money, maybe they should look at themselves and try to improve La Liga.

Bukayo Saka = future GOAT.

I don't think the super league is dead because some clubs are desperate, including ourselves, spending beyond our means to try keep up with the english clubs. However our issues are born out of Serie A being 20 years behind the times. Had the league being any use it would've got it's act together 20 years ago.
Juve have been trying to drag the league kicking and screaming into the 21st Century and the league just trashtalks us and gives us penalties for nothing. Serie A's solution to get the clubs up to Juve's standard is to penalise Juve instead of trying to improve their own lot. Juve would be way better off leaving Serie A and join the Swiss league and let Serie A rot itself.
In a way i would love to see UEFA, and by extension FIFA, lose the Champions League revenue, maybe with less money they will be less corrupt!
On the other hand, the super league revealed it's intention to remove meritocracy on the first proposal so i have concerns that once the CL is killed off and the super league is the only show in town then they'll do away with the meritocracy that they are now proposing.
I wouldn't be blaming EPL for anything, italian football is a joke from it's own doing.

Serie A should have been sorting its issues out in the 90's but didn't, focusing on expensive signings rather than infrastructure such as stadiums, fan behaviour, youth academies etc. The money then wasn't sustainable (aside from Juve of course who ran a tighter ship) hence why a number of big clubs like Parma, Fiorentina and Napoli ended up bankrupt.
The Premier League was built on greed from day one at the expense of the other teams in the English pyramid. Now it's at the expense of the rest of football too, and that's an issue for Italy, Spain, Germany and everyone else.
The easiest solution would be a global restriction on the number of foreign players allowed in a squad, like it used to be. Sadly I think EU rules would prevent that for any leagues based in EU countries. Such a rule though would improve the standard of leagues around the world as the best players produced there are forced to stay for longer before moving abroad. Subsequently interest in football wouldn't be as focused on the bigger leagues which will help to spread revenue. I also think it will improve the standard of international football.
Everyone is out for themselves though whether it be Uefa, the Super League company, the Premier League, Fifa and whoever so the sport's just going to get less and less interesting.
