Italy haven't been great, they're a bit of a mess still and its the knockout stages now. Spalletti should know his team before the tournament or at least by the knockouts. Anyway i hope they do well because i'm familiar with their players more than those on other countries.

But seriously, how does he get his game when he hasn't played all season, how does he even get called up? His absence kind of made him a better player in people's minds than he actually was, he was an ok player with potential but you'd swear he was something better the way he's been talked about.

I never usually miss an Italy game in a big tourneys but I passed on it today. Shows my optimism on how they would do under Spalletti. He was clueless in this tourney, and he needs to step down. Players aren't playing for him and gave no confidence in him. Don't let the door hit you in the butt.........

The Italy team didn't look as if they'd prepared for the game or tournament, Spalletti clearly didn't know who to play as he kept making changes to the team.
Switzerland have been good so far, they've been doing well in recent years, such as when they knocked out France at the last Euros. They look very organised, like everyone knows their role in the team, the opposite of Italy yesterday.
Germany/Denmark was yet another powerful argument against VAR. An offside by centimetres that still took a long time, and a joke of a penalty awarded by a VAR whose one of the worst referees I've ever seen yet is somehow VAR for a knockout game at a major tournament.

I, too, think Germany Spain will be a good game but I can't understand Duncan's reaction to it!

Very few, if any, of the starting eleven came out with much credit. I think Palmer has to play against the Swiss & the rest need a good kick up the arse or dropping.
