Seems the Saudi's are not interested beyond Inter of these four teams. Its like flogging a dead horse this Supercoppa. I think having it as a one game curtain raiser like the Community Shield in England was tried out in the 90s once or twice and it was kind of a mixed bag but mostly failed, i could be remembering it wrong though. Having it going through all these different locations, staged at different times of the season and now a different format just means it doesn't garner any tradition and therefore no prestige.
To give it prestige i think have it as a one game curtain raiser again, just stick with it and eventually after two decades it'll have it's tradition Money will keep it in the Middle-East until they get bored of it though. Then the FIGC will have to sell it to the next highest bidder once they've become accustomed to and reliant on the €23m to fund grassroots, or pay for junkets and expenses rather.
The prize money for the placings in Serie A seems depressingly paltry if it is ever to compete with other leagues for the same attention it got in the past. Well that and the long list of other shortcomings that are contributing to its self destruction.
