RICHARD FIELD BETTING GAME 2022/23 THE SERIE A BETTING GAME

Setup originally on the old Channel 4 Football Italia forum in 2004 by forum member delpiero, the game was revived by il ferret in 2008 following our move to the (old) new forum. The game was once known as the Points Game, because of the C4 mods belief we were promoting gambling, but we brought back the original Betting Game name following the forum move. In 2017 the game was renamed the Richard Field Betting Game following the passing of il ferret, an appropriate tribute to a good contributor to the forum, and the person who once ran this game. From 2018 it has been known as the RF Betting Game.
Each week a new thread will posted in the forum entitled RF Betting Game Week ..., which will contain all that week's Serie A fixtures and the odds (usually from Bet 365).
Bets need to be placed in the format: {Team Name} {HOME/AWAY/DRAW} {Amount} @ {Odds}. I.e. Sampdoria HOME 10.00 @ 2.05. If you're not sure on this, then follow what everyone else is doing.
All bets must be between 5.00 and 10.00, unless you have less than 5.00 left, and then I will permit a smaller bet.
Every player starts the season with 200.00. Any player who fails to place a bet in a week will automatically lose 10.00 from their total.
Anybody joining the game after week 1, will start with 200.00 minus 10 * number of weeks already played. So somebody joining in week 6 would start with 150.00, as 5 weeks will have been played.
Once your total falls to 0 or below, you're out!
If a player bets on a game which is postponed or abandoned updated odds will be posted on the forum before the replay is played and players are free to bet on a different result. Players must still bet on the same match though if there's multiple postponements in the same game week.
There's a new rule in bold which gives more freedom to bet on a different outcome should a game be postponed or abandoned. Previously I forced people to have the same bet with updated odds, now you can choose a home win if you previously chose an away win and so on.
I don't want to allow people to change their bet to a different match if multiple games are called off as I fear that has the potential to get a bit messy if those replayed matches aren't played at exactly the same time which in modern Serie A they almost certainly won't be.
