Gaelic language film The Quiet Girl is a stunning film and rightly up for an Oscar. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Compartment No 6 is another film I rented on the cheap on Prime video & is about a Finnish university student travelling by train from Moscow to Murmansk in the Artic Circle in the confines of a sleeper compartment over four days or so. Her travelling companion is a Russian miner who is a little rough round the edges. A beautifully observed movie about companionship & friendship!

On Netflix Dead To Me series 3 is as daft & entertaining as ever. :sniggering:

I really enjoyed Compartment no 6. Lovely film.

The Quiet Girl is on my immediate list along with Decision to Leave, Everything Everywhere All At Once and The Banshees of Inisherin.

I've hardly watched any telly lately apart from Doom Patrol which was bonkers. Loved it.
About to start Series 4 of Babylon Berlin. It's been so long since the last series.

I saw a quirky wee film called The Year and the Vineyard. This Sicilian guy from 1937 is on his way to fight in the Spanish Civil War when he falls through a hole in time into Spain in 2012. It's only 70 odd minutes long. I would recommend it.

Verno, I like your list & I will check out that quirky movie, it's a daft enough plot to be a gem.

I'm late to the party, I know, but I'm currently watching the first series of Yellowjackets. It is ace and much better than than I expected. Do believe the hype!
