Gaelic language film The Quiet Girl is a stunning film and rightly up for an Oscar. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Compartment No 6 is another film I rented on the cheap on Prime video & is about a Finnish university student travelling by train from Moscow to Murmansk in the Artic Circle in the confines of a sleeper compartment over four days or so. Her travelling companion is a Russian miner who is a little rough round the edges. A beautifully observed movie about companionship & friendship!

On Netflix Dead To Me series 3 is as daft & entertaining as ever. :sniggering:

I really enjoyed Compartment no 6. Lovely film.

The Quiet Girl is on my immediate list along with Decision to Leave, Everything Everywhere All At Once and The Banshees of Inisherin.

I've hardly watched any telly lately apart from Doom Patrol which was bonkers. Loved it.
About to start Series 4 of Babylon Berlin. It's been so long since the last series.

I saw a quirky wee film called The Year and the Vineyard. This Sicilian guy from 1937 is on his way to fight in the Spanish Civil War when he falls through a hole in time into Spain in 2012. It's only 70 odd minutes long. I would recommend it.

Verno, I like your list & I will check out that quirky movie, it's a daft enough plot to be a gem.

I'm late to the party, I know, but I'm currently watching the first series of Yellowjackets. It is ace and much better than than I expected. Do believe the hype!

Decision to Leave was ace! I watched it on Mubi last night & there's lots of twists so you have to pay attention but it's highly recommended. Another classic from Korean cinema.

The second half of Netflix K-Drama The Glory was great. Plenty of twists and a good revenge for bullying plot made the 16 episode watch a good one.

Rabbit Hole with Kiefer 'Jack Bauer' Sutherland playing to type in a mad conspiracy thriller is ace, two episodes in. The actress who plays his support role (love interest?), Meta Golding, is brilliant as well. As the Guardian stated, she's a scene stealer.

Was it The Guardian who said it was bonkers. I can't remember.

I finally watched Mare of Easttown with Kate Winslet playing a small town detective trying to solve a murder and also the case of a missing girl. All sounds over familiar but this was top draw. Highly recommended two years late!

I loved Mare of Easttown. I would recommend it to anybody.

Finally started season 3 of The Boys. Something happened in the first 15 mins of episode 1 and even for The Boys it was 😮😱😂
Even more 😱 than the whale or the giant 🐓 from last season.

Also, Series 3 of Guilt starts on Beeb 2 on Thursday (Tuesday in Scotland). I didn't even know there was going to be a series 3. Bonus.

Party Down, the first series, is top draw comedy. Only two more to go! :sniggering: Highly recommended.

I'm three quarters through the second series of Yellowjackets and it's been some journey.........God alone know how it will end?

Lastly, I've finally started rewatching Barry from the second series and had forgotten how great it was. As dark a comedy as I've recently seen and all the better for it.

Started watching Arrested Development after needing some laughs, after watching quite a bit of Cold Case, Ozark and L&O:SVU. I love it. Can't believe its taken me so long to watch it.

Forgot about Barry, I've watched the first 2 seasons. So a bit of catching up with that. Will watched after I'm done with Arrested Development.

It so is. It's weird to watch Jason Bateman all serious in Ozark then funny in AD. My fav character is Lucille tho.
