A good 3 points. Nothing too flashy (apart from Soule's excellent free kick), but considering how many players we rested it was a job well done.

Good to see Salah-Eddine and Lucas Gourna-Douath in action. I liked the look of Salah-Eddine, quick, good left foot and keen to get forward. Should be a perfect back up to Angeliño

Was surprised to see LGD playing in the attacking midfield role, I'd thought he was a deeper midfielder. :dunno:

Koné really is just getting better and better, isn't he? :chanting:

Yeah, I nice tidy 3 points and agree with your point on Kone. Just really growing in the team. Wonderful free kick by Soule as well

Only small gripe is that playing that long with a man advantage, you would think Roma could get the 2nd goal to dust the game. It just seems so hard for this team to score on the road from open play

I didn't catch the match live but what a free kick! :cooler: Soule should play more now he's settled in as should Baldanzi. They both have that high skill level allied with unpredictabily which is rare in our squad, Dybala excepted.

Ranieri took a chance with his selection but that was understandable with Porto in mind tomorrow. Here's hoping the players put in another great performance and we progress to the last 16...........Lazio await us.

I enjoyed that, plenty of needle throughout & some hilarious play acting again which they were on the end of this time with the sending off. Paredes played a blinder there even if it really grates! :dunno:

It's a tough draw, I would have preferred Nazio next for obvious reasons. We'll have to do the business in the first leg at the Olympico and gain an advantage to take to the Basque country.

Athletic Bibao will be a tough nut to crack. Especially since second leg is on the road. And also set up to maybe face the special one next?? Hmmmmmm

Also after today's shenanigans in the Udinese v Lecce game, can we sign Lucca from them as another forward please? And an Italian one at that!

Athletic Club were the top seeds in the draw so it's a very tough ask to win over two legs but our form has improved off the scale so it's definitely possible.

As you both stated, the potential opponents in the next round look very tasty........

I would have actually rather have gotten Nazio. No travel and would not have to worry about getting up for the games

Me too. Nazio are starting to struggle as well and it would have been an epic two matches.

A win against Monza and we're closing the gap on the top six. It's all thanks to Caudio!

:romagiantflag: :romagiantflag: :romagiantflag: :romagiantflag: A lot of the teams above us dropped points so that was impressive in getting four goals at home. Onwards & upwards!

Now that's how you handle a team like Monza. You just put the game to bed and call it a night.

As the theme from the TV show "The Jefferson's" says- Moving on up!

Nice win today against a tricky Como side. Ranieri has really turned this around.
