Eldor!!!! And to think we wanted to get rid of him. He is doing better than Artem at the moment. It's going to be a diabolical second leg. :romagiantflag: :romagiantflag: :romagiantflag: :romagiantflag:

What a finish to the game! :coolreddancer: :romagiantflag: :coolreddancer:

Really pleased for Shomu, and was also impressed by Soulé's game when he came on, he really gives us something different in the attacking areas and can see him being useful when you're chasing a goal. :whoopwhoop:

I'm liking the look of Rensch as well, we've definitely got the makings of a decent squad, which is vital when you're playing two games a week.

Also, what is Angelino on, and can I get some of it! He’s like the Duracell bunny! :biggrinbunny: :fastheadbanging:

Another away win and a pretty decent performance with a largely second choice 11.

Have we reached the point where the club try to encourage Claudio to delay his move upstairs for an extra year or two? :dunno:

Could have had 4 goals in the first half. But still way to grind out another road win.

I've been thinking exactly this for a week or two now. It would be great for another season but in all honesty, Claudio deserves his retirement to be just that!

It's evidently a discussion point at the club as well.....

https://romapress.net/ranieri-will-not- ... next-year/
But there is one question that torments the fans: why not continue with Ranieri next year too?

For now, he has been clear: "I will stop at the end of the year".

It is a decision that the club respects, writes La Repubblica, but that sporting director Florent Ghisolfi still hopes to overturn.

I think it would be fair to just have him coach out the season then get another manager. He deserves to have a executive role .

Just not Gasperini please. Total dbag

Big game nerves right now but CR has gone for experience looking at the starting eleven.

I had a hunch Hummels might not be ideal for this game against the Williams brothers and their pace. And my hunch of rather playing Lazio I think was correct in hindsight

Out of Europe and out of trophies to win.......ugh

Yep, big Mats summed it up well himself.... :ninja:
“I am sorry Roma. I want to apologise to our fans and my teammates,” Hummels wrote on Instagram.

“I let everyone down today with a mistake that was simply stupid and horrendous. These games used to be the games my team could rely on me, now I fu**** up and cost the whole club the dream of winning the Europa League. Don‘t know what else to say, I am as disappointed in me like all of you.”
Not sure it's worth analysing the game too much.....other than mentioning that Nico Williams is some player....

On to the next game. Never did I think we would miss Celik in a game , but we did yesterday.

Way to grit out out another 3 points and bounce back after the loss against Bilbao. Svilar made some incredible saves. Dybala with a muscle injury again.....what else is new.

The defense is much better without Hummels which is sad to say. He is past it against most teams. Good for Dovbyk to score or he would have been booed off the field for some of his misses.

I've never been happy with booing my own team or players, it doesn't help the cause in any way so I'm glad Dovbyk got the winner yesterday. The guy's just lacking confidence at the minute but that will do him the world of good.

Another three points and teams above us losing really helps CR with team motivation in aiming higher that just a European place. Anything is possible right now! :romagiantflag: :romagiantflag: :romagiantflag:

Very important 3 points, which puts us right in the mix for the European places, which is pretty remarkable given we were in 13th place when Claudio took over. :stpatricksdayslainte:

Although think it will be a real challenge to climb higher in the table, with games against Juve, Lazio, Inter, Atalanta and Milan to come in our final 9 fixtures....but you never know and the pressure will be on the teams above us. :dunno:

RE Dovbyk, as you know I've always had a soft spot for big, lumbering, eastern European strikers  but with 10 goals now in the league, it's far from the Schick level of striker signing disappointments.

It's not like we've had that many prolific CF's in recent years!

Was interesting to read Ranier's quotes that Artem is the kind of striker that "needs affection and understanding". Hopefully he can grow in confidence and assert himself more with Claudio's guidance.

Interesting interview with Edoardo Bove, fingers crossed he can find a club abroad and continue his playing career. :chanting:

Times have changed, some players are delicate emotionally. :dunno:

Claudio's retiring as we expected, I really hope he go out with a bang! :romagiantflag:
