Very simple to be honest, all games are listed for viewing so you pick one & away you go. You can also cancel at any time which means no charge for twomonths in the summer.

Virgin have taken TNT Sports (as a free add on) from their packages so at the next renewal, it will be an additional cost. The Yanks have spoiled the company in so many ways so it was time to leave, well almost. :seeya:

 Cheers Lupo, will consider that option, although I'm fairly wedded to the ability to "record" content and watch later on Virgin TV, and don't have a smart TV (I know?! :ninja: ), so would need to stream Amazon through my Apple TV box, which involves at least two TV controllers....which is one too many in my book....

Really need to phone up Virgin and pretend I'm going to leave to see if I can get a better deal.....but that would involve me having to research competitor prices to get my story straight... :blahblah:

The Firestick will turn your TV into a Smart TV in a seemless way.
https://www.argos.co.uk/search/amazon-f ... e+tv+stick
It's basically a well made android box, it's very intuitive and seemless.
It's made by Amazon so you can sign in with your Amazon account.
You can also put most android apps on it, so you can play Netflix, Disney+, 4OD, Virgin TV app, youtube and other iplayers on it to play on your TV.
If you use a soundbar then you don't need the remote that has the volume buttons but if you've only got one remote then you probably don't have a soundbar, so if you don't have a soundbar or want to watch using headphones then get the one with the volume buttons.

I've six remotes

Edit: i suppose if you have an amazon prime account you could just buy the firestick off themselves.

I bought a Firestick in the Amazon Black Friday sale last year and it cost about £20. So easy to use even Little Miss Luddite (me) can manage.

The Firestick is such a well made product because it's seemless for everyone regardless of one's "techyness". It's the best €50 i ever spent on tech i reckon. Although the sony walkman that i got in 1998-ish where it auto detected the start of tracks with a remote on the earphone cable was mind-blowing at the time, though was about 100 irish pounds at the time, which is probably equivalent to a billion quid now, or at least felt like that trying to save for it on a part time student job.

I got my first Walkman when I was about 8. I loved it. It wasn't fancy, it was a Sony brick with the padded headphones. Be still my beating heart.

Loved my Walkman. While in college at Purdue, I wore that thing out walking to classes and such jamming hair metal, new wave, and early rap stuff

Thanks Myles,

Appreciate the info and advice!

I actually have Apple TV (and used to use it in a similar way to a Firestick when I had to stream BT Sport from an app on my iPhone back in the day), but since upgrading from Freeview to Virgin TV I'm able to get Netflix, TNT Sports, Dsney + etc from within the Virgin Hub, which (apart from the costs gradually creeping up) I quite like using.....Mainly because I only need to use one controller (and don't have to keep switching between AV inputs), and crucially don't have to hunt around to locate where my wife and son have randomly left the other two........ (the thought of trying to locate your six controllers is stressing me out!!)

Also I'm such a luddite that whenever I encounter TV's that don't have a 'Live' guide as a starting point for what to watch it freaks me out.... :ninja:

If I subscribed to a lot of external content providers, it would make absolute sense to use a Firestick/Apple TV as a hub to stream content, but I'm only really using it for Freeview content + TNT Sport + Netflix (and even that we don't watch that often....).

So I'll probably stick with Virgin.....(until they force the new software upgrade on me)....

That shouldn't have been a penalty for Napoli. The RM defender blocks the ball legitimately.
