Good for you. It's always cool to discover new stuff.
I was listening to Linkin Park's first album last week. It's been a while. I'm not crazy about nu metal but there's some decent stuff out there.

I remember when they started playing Korn in the clubs and everyone was like what is this ?!
The young 'uns won't know what it was like to hear things in a club for the first time or on that one rock show on the radio.

After yesterday's United debacle, Bad Brains was the only appropriate listening! :headbanging:

Danger Mouse & Black Thought's album Cheat Codes is going to all killer no filler judging by the four preview tracks! Ace, ace, ace. :cooldancer:

I've been thinking of exploring Linkin Park's discography more. Nu metal got a bad reputation back in the day, I think it was because of Limp Bizkit, before Nickleback and Creed they were the fashionable team to hate on. But there is some decent bands and songs that came from the scene.

Haha, I remember tuning into the radio to hear the "exclusive" new single of my favs back in the day. And spending all my afternoon on Sundays listening to the Top 40 with my hand in the record button on my cassette player to catch my fav songs for my mixtape. 🥺

Have we listened to the new Beyonce yet Lupo?

I've listened to it about 3 times, I just can't get into it, I liked the sound she was going for with Beyonce / Lemonade but this just doesn't do it for me.

Accept the shiteness and it will get less 'exciting'.

Ignore that. You will tear your hair out every week if my own experience is anything to go by. 😱😖

Been exploring The Temptations discography, especially the David Ruffin and Eddie Kendrick's era. I can through so many motions through each song. They just don't make them like this anymore.

So true! After you have listened to The Temptations extensive catalogue, I'd recommend their solo albums as your next stop! They even re-united in the mid 80s as a duo.

There's load of new stuff I'm listening to; The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs album is due bext week and the preview tracks are top draw!; The return of Kelela with a new single Washed out which is ace; Dwson's new House stuff on A Tape For You; A new Techno LP by Skudge; Paul's Boutique by The Beastie Boys still sound top draw after 30 odd years............. :cooldancer:

I discovered so many more songs apart from the classics. That said My Girl is still the gem in their discography. I listened to David Ruffin's solo stuff too, found many a gem in there too. I have not explored Kendrick's yet but will.

I'm about to move on to some Teddy Pendergrass and Donny Hathaway I think. I heard If You Don't Know Me By Now and A Song For You the other day there and felt like I had to hear more.

 :headbanging: :cooldancer: I remember buying the Donny Hathaway vinyl album with the white cover for big bucks back in the late 1980s. Teddy P also has a great voice. Good luck finding plenty of gems..... :chanting:

On rotation today in a very wet Manchester; New albums by Gabriels & Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs; The comp Lefto Early Bird Presents The Beauty is Inside; Kerri Chandler's immense Spaces & Places.

Ah, this is fantastic. Its soul for the 21st century. I see this album is part one. I cannot wait for part two. Its artists like this that gives me hope not all popular music will be dependent on weird faced tattoo mumbling "singers" or "rappers" going forward. Real music is still out there, you just got to get past all the bullshit that sells these days.
That said I quite like Doja Cat these days, she's got some bangers as the kids may say.
