It's all gone stale under Southgate, although I do also think a lot of the players aren't as good as they're made out to be. Relegation from a Nations League group that includes Hungary should be a wake up call I hope.
A poor England is no surprise although The Nations Cup is hardly a major competition in terms of enthusiasm, it's just that we've been crap for a while now which is worrying. A great winner by Raspadori though!
I would argue that Harry Maguire has incriminating photos of Gareth Southgate in his possession. But that can't be it because...
A) Southgate is as boring as a plank of wood.
B) Maguire is terrible at keeping possession.
I feel sorry for Maguire, he's far from the only problem for England yet seems to have all the focus on him. His vastly inflated transfer fee raised expectations that he was never going to live up to.
I also somewhat feel sorry Maguire. He is not the problem at all, the main problem is Southgate, who keeps playing an out of form player who got dropped by his club.
England finally win in Italy after 62 years! A fab first half & a dire second which wasn't helped by Southgate's refusal to make substitutions until late in the game.
