It does seem that way. They usually always make it hard on themselves but end up okay. But lately it just seems "off"

For one, quit calling up the likes of Jorginho.

Brazil - Argentina was a bit mad to say the least!

Lost in the shuffle is that Argentina won in Brazil in a WC qualifier. Historic

And why is Italy in pot 4? They did win the last Euro's?

......and sadly failed to qualify for two WCs. It's a travesty that they aren't seeded in pot one as defending champions tbh but that idea seems to sailed seeding wise. :tongueout:

When I was looking at some of the teams in the pots ahead of them I was shaking my head. No disrespect, but they have won nothing lately. At least Italy won a major tourney

I'm not even sure what the criteria is for the pots, but the holders being in pot 4 is bizarre.

Maybe the co-efficient? If its not that then I have no idea.

The draw is wide open thanks to UEFA’s decision to allocate pots in accordance with results in qualifying groups.
Therefore, the final position and points teams achieved in their Euro 2024 qualifiers was taken into consideration ahead of a country’s FIFA ranking.
As a Scotland fan I approve, unless we get drawn with Italy of course......

The new way of ranking can through up some anomalies, but overall I quite like it, especially as it removes the impact of friendly results, which teams often 'made the most of' in the past....

The problem with that is that the qualifying groups themselves weren't balanced. You had the 2 finalists of the last tournament, a quarter finalist and another qualifier in the same group.

I would be quite happy to do away with seeding though and have a random draw for the final tournament.

I think the holders should get in automatically for all the major tourneys. Since we now have the Nations league, the teams will be getting competitive games throughout anyways which was a major concern before
