I barely remember them at the 1986 World Cup. They sucked {of course they were there and the USA wasn't]

I didn't even know they were there. Mind you my knowledge of that event is limited to Maradona being a cheating shitbox. :dunno:

That was a proper group of death for Scotland!

West Germany, Denmark and Uruguay.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_FIFA ... up_Group_E

We had quite a team back then as well, as well as the core from Scottish teams that were doing so well in Europe at the time we had the likes of Souness, Strachan and Charlie Nicholas from Down South and McAvennie couldn't even get a starting spot! Even better for my teenage self, Dundee United had 3 x players in the 11 and two more on the bench.

Great times, even if we inevitably managed not to go through from the Group stages usual..... :ninja:

Admittedly, I don't pay too much attention to north and central America, I just assume Mexico and the US beat everyone.

So Scotland got Ukraine, not ideal.

Italy or Portugal won't be at the world cup.

Don't forget Wales with a fit Bale & Ramsey who will mysteriously recover from long term injuries in time for the playoffs. Tough for Scotland but not impossible.

Tough, but not impossible.

Somehow my skeptical self sees a Ronaldo goal eliminating Italy....

During the AFCON i started off supporting Ghana, then Cameroon and now Senegal

So hopefully they can beat Egypt tonight. 🤞

Third time lucky!

I was looking at the homecoming for the Senegal team, amazing scenes. Got me thinking that if Scotland ever won anything they'd have to declare a weeks national holiday.
