Hey gang, I made a thing. Mapped all the Serie A players' birthplaces. Bit o' geeky fun like.

That's brilliant Nino! :chanting:

Very interesting to see how spread out the birthplace of players is across Italy, perhaps a lot less in major cities than you'd think, with Turin and Genoa only supplying 5 x players each, whereas a small area of Kosovo provides 4 x players alone! Though I'm guessing those cities probably supply many more players in the lower Italian leagues

I'm guessing that the club crests are arranged randomly in bigger cities like Rome? Rather than being assigned to the specific area the players were born in? I appreciate it would be nigh on impossible to have that level of detail.....

Yeah when it came to somewhere like Rome, all the players were placed on top of each other so to make them a bit more visible I manually spread them out a bit. All the other markers are supposed to mark the city each player is from rather than anything more specific.

Thanks for explaining nino.

Well done again, it’s a brilliant resource. :chanting:

Five live per round apparently, the other five shown but not live, and a show hosted by JR i think.
On the latest Totally Football Podcast they confirmed the additional show (hosted by James Richardson) will be on from 7pm - 10pm every Sunday night. Sounds ideal, time for weekend highlights/goals + full preview and coverage of the big Sunday night game.

That's the best coverage we've had in the UK for at least 2-3 years? :coolreddancer:
Quick update on the coverage, the Sunday night show starts at 7:30pm this weekend (not 7pm), not sure whether that will be the same going forward.

Oh and the Saturday coverage starts 30mins before the kick-off this weekend, which is great to hear, again not sure if this is a one off for the opening weekend?
Serie A
21 Aug 2021 5:00pm
Live: Inter v Genoa
Duration: 2hrs 30mins
James Richardson presents Serie A football as champions Inter begin the defence of their title against Genoa at the San Siro.

I had understood that this week the JR show is on Saturday, but the regular slot will be Sunday night. Probably explains the start times for this weekend and they will quite likely switch back for future weeks.
Looks like the much talked about magazine show on BT Sport starts this weekend. Great stuff :coolreddancer:
19:00 - 19:45
Live: Golazzo Live
Duration: 45mins
A look ahead to tonight's Serie A action between Roma and Sassuolo, plus catch-up on all the key action from the weekend so far.

I really enjoyed the pre/ post match banter on Sunday, they were both in great form throughout.

The madness of sacking season a la Palermo has started already with Verona & Cagliari doing the dirty today. Both coaches deserved better after only three games gone. :annoyedshakinghead: :dunno: EDF should brush himself down & start again in Serie B.

I enjoyed the show, it did what it needed to do with highlights and other insights.

I'd like BT to have an hour long highlights show like Premier Sports used to have and like they have for Ligue 1 though.

They'll both be rehired by the same clubs by Christmas.

If someone could tell me what kind of hex Sassuolo has over Inter, that would be great, thanks.

The Milan sides are cracking under pressure, will Napoli beat Nazio this weekend? I bloody hope so!

Maybe Atalanta can get a win even if they are missing players? It seems there is a lack of consistency or nosebleeds when teams reach the heady heights this season. I'm not sure who will win the title this year but it sure is a scrappy affair. :standingonrake:

I think Inter will win it sadly, they have the quality and the experience of winning the title last season. Looking from the outside of this race it is a fascinating one.

Does anyone know why all the games are kicking off 5 minutes later this weekend? It's the sort of thing that the FI site would have covered back in the day but I guess they don't have time these days with all those Tottenham and Lukaku stories.

I bought a non-Juve jersey for the first time since an Olympiacos shirt on a Greek holiday about 15 years ago, anyway i got the Venezia home shirt, they're back in stock.
Does that make me a 'Bonucci'?

Shirt sells out in hours back in August, then only comes available again when season nearly done, it's the Italian way!

Anyway if anyone wants it the official one is here > https://shop.veneziafc.it/collections/k ... 9431784679
Go one size up for Kappa. So if you're L then go XL.
Kappa are great, they design a different shirt for each club, instead of like Addidas, Nike etc who design one top then just change the colours for each club, lazy. Then pretend it's designed like that for that particular city because blah blah blah....talking shite.

I got some other stuff because shipping was a massive €25, maybe that's their plan, to make you buy more. Anyway when they ship it from Italy it arrives the next day believe it or not, i guess the shipping they use is actually premium.
