Andy's pulled out of singles, going to do doubles with brother Jamie and mixed with Emma Raducanu.

Think this might be the best way for him to go out. Would have been a shame to see him humiliated in the singles by a player who wouldn’t have won a set against him in his prime.

Also a reminder of how mental it was for Scotland to have the number one tennis player in both singles and doubles.

It was the best way.

I wonder if we'll have a few more Scottish players in a few years time inspired by Andy (and Jamie). The lad Djokovic played yesterday was Scottish, he seemed alright, might here more of him.

After the eternal boredom of the Euros, there was a real blood & thunder Hurling Final classic at Croke Park, Dublin. To say it was physical would be a gross injustice & some of the skills were truly out of this world. Anyway, less fawning, Clare beat Cork by a point after 90+ breathless minutes including extra time. :fastheadbanging: :fastheadbanging: :fastheadbanging: :fastheadbanging: :fastheadbanging:

It was a very good game, Clare didn't get going until their first goal but then outscored Cork 1-08 to 0-04 in the last 10-15 minutes of the first half. The ref made quite a few crucial mistakes, so that was the only disappointing aspect. Neither team deserved to lose but well done to Clare. I remember seeing their manager play at fullback when they won in the 90s.

In the 800m mens final an Algerian lad came from the back of the pack in the last 200 meters to finish 3rd, it was kind of cool.

USA wins the gold in men's hoops in a really good game. Also nice to see the USA women's team win the gold in soccer as well. This team is much more likeable then previous squads. And and they have had their English coach for only 10 games!
